In outlining the position of the Group of 77 reference has been made to the Progress Report on the Work of the Preparatory Committee which is to be submitted to the ministerial meeting at Arusha even though this document is provisional and has no official status. Similarly, the account of the position of the ACP States is based on the Special Report by the Committee of Ambassadors to the seventeenth session of the Council of ACP Ministers on the state of Progress in the Negotiations for a successor arrangement to the Lomé Convention. So far as positions on the multilateral trade negotiations are concerned, the information has been prepared by the ECA secretariat.
