Gabon is a country which is full of indentations and at the same time very well wooded, and aerial photographs are the sine qua non of almost every study of development and improvement (in mines, forests, communications routes, etc) Indeed a considerable effort has been made in this field. Besides, it has borne fruit since in spite of the exceptional atmospheric conditions which are almost constantly unfavorable, p145)000 km have been photographed on a scale approaching 1*50,000.This result has been obtained largely through the use of infra-red emulsions, and a super-wide angle camera of short focal length.
