The primary purpose of creating this forum was to put the mobility crises faced by the large majority of poor inhabitants of African cities more prominently on the urban development agenda, and to facilitate practical direct contacts between important players in this field.the meeting focused on the following broad aspects:
assessment of the latest African experiences in the field of urban pedestrian and bicycle mobility; assessment of how mobility improves or frustrates the urban economy and social fabric; Identification of modalities for supporting the provision of an economically and environmentally sustainable mobility for the entire population, in particular the large poor majority, as a backbone of positive urban development.
