dc.description.abstractThis paper focuses on non-formal and distance education in Ethiopia: lessons and experiences. In Ethiopia, non-formal distance education is normally referred to as adult education because it caters mostly to the adult population. This form of education can be traced back to the early 20th century of Emperor Menelik and Zewditu's proclamations of "Let all learn." In 1944, Emperor Haile Selassie's Government instituted an education policy under the title Memorandum in Education Policy.en
