Sudan and Sahalian countries> maize in East and Southern Africa’s rice in Madagascar and parts of West Africa roots and tubers (cassava yams and sweet potatoes) mainly in the forest zone of West and Central Africa’s and pulses (cow-peas-, in particular) throughout Africa, Important oil seeds are ground, nuts and palm oil.
