Abstract
The need of up-to-date maps nowadays becomes a necessity. The rapid changes in the content of topographic maps as well as the continuous change in the user requirement push mapping agencies in the direction of the development of production methods. In conformity with this current trends, the present research may be interesting to those who are involved in measuring, studying or managing earth resources. It is directed primarily to the practical use of the space imagery, not to theoretical mathematics or electronics investigations. Among the spacebome platforms currently being operated, the French Satellite Probatoire pour L'observation de la Terre, Abbreviated as SPOT, is chosen to be the main subject of this paper. The stereoscopic capability of the SPOT imagery is the prime motivation behind this choice.
