The report on the impact of and strategies to combat, external shocks in African monetary zones, with particular reference to West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), the Central African Monetary Union (UMAC) and the specific case of Nigeria, sets out to assess the effects of external shocks on the existing monetary zones in Africa and highlight possible measures which member countries can pursue in an effort to guard against these shocks or at least minimize their effects
