Family and household characteristics collected in censuses in some countries of southern Africa and Indian ocean

Abstract

Over the years, the United Nations has issued recommendations, handbooks and technical reports in order to improve the quality of censuses around the world and to make the results of Censuses as comparable as possible. The main publication of the series is the principles and recommendations for Population and Housing Censuses (PRPHC) adopted by the United Nations Statistical Commission in 1979 and published in 1980.
