Progrès accomplis dans la mise en œuvre des programmes de lutte contre la pauvreté en Afrique
Résumé
L'Afrique possède un grand potentiel de ressources. Sur l’ensemble du continent, la terre cultivée est d'environ 195 millions d’hectares (IITA 1993). Cette grande étendue de terrain, dont la plus grande partie se trouve en Afrique subsaharienne ne constitue qu'une quantité négligeable du potentiel de terre arable de la région (26%). Le reste de la surface offre des grandes opportunités de développer la production agricole.
