Ways and means to improve port performance in African ports

Abstract

ECA organized an intergovernmental meeting of chief executive and senior port officials of African ports on improvement of African port performance. The meeting took place in Addis Ababa from 29 to 31 October 1987. During the meeting recommendations on ways and means to improve port performance were adopted. One of the recommendation requested ECA to act as a focal point for promoting co – operation through maintaining close contacts with ports and providing a forum for meetings African port officials.
