Abstract
The Second meeting of the Committee on Sustainable Development (CSD) was held
at the UN Conference Centre, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 26 to 29 November 2001. The
Director of Commission's Food Security and Sustainable Development Division (FSSDD), Mr.
Josue Dione delivered the welcome address on behalf of Mr. K. Y. Amoako, the Executive
Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). His Excellency, Mr. Mekonnen
Manyazewal, Minister of State for Finance and Economic Development of the Federal
Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, made the opening address,
