Abstract
Several "economies", or indeed the interdependent "world economy", are thus profoundly affected, not necessarily because anything physical has happened at all. Even where something physical — a drought, a war — has happened, it is the interpretation of this (perceptions that are communicated) which moves people at those stock exchanges to go into panic buying or selling.
