Abstract
Twenty-five year after independence. African countries are still fighting to improve n- the living conditions of their people, of their rural folk hi particular. This official statement reflects the deep and persistent cri-i4 which African society is undergoing The crisis has placed most people in a position where their vita] needs are not met and they cannot adapt to the proposed pattern of development.
