This objective has been set forth in the economic and social development plans of all countries in the region and accorded top priority. And yet numerous surveys conducted on the world food situation have all come up with the sad realization that hunger and famine continue to plague many parts of the world. Millions of human beings do not have enough food and a still more substantial number cannot secure the food they need to maintain their health.en
