Abstract

The Fifth Conference of Chief Executives of ECA-sponsored institutions were held at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 10 and 11 January 1935. This conference was held at a crucial time in the development of African multinational institutions because many African countries are not only facing the scourge of drought and hunger but are also in the throes of economic crisis. The multinational institutions more than ever before have to demonstrate their practical usefulness to African Governments if they are to retain their political and financial support so necessary to the wellbeing and development of the former.
