A National Action Plan for Women in Uganda has been compiled as part of the process of implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action (BFA). The National Action Plan aims at achieving equal opportunities for women by empowering them to participate in and benefit from social. Economic and political development. The five-year Action Plan highlights four thematic areas aforementioned to be addressed, strategic actions, indicators and key actor for implementation, and coordination mechanism. This report highlights progress made in this endeavour by Government and other stakeholders. This report has been prepared in fulfilment of the requirement of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), to facilitate in the preparation of the regional synthesis report in preparation for the Sixth African Regional Conference on Women.
