The major obstacles to industrialization in Africa have been identified, These include : - the small size of national markets in terms of population and purchasing power ; - lack of technical know-how and managerial skills ; - shortage of capital and concurrently also of well-formulated viable projects ; - inadequacies of existing institutions to support and promote the industrialization efforts.
