Résumé
The bulk of chemicals produced in the chemical process industries are used within the industry itself, Part of this goes to the manufacture of consumer-oriented end-products. Some of these end products are the main concern of this paper. From import statistics presented in table I, the, group of products dealt with in this paper account for 43-44 per cent of the value of all chemical imports into the UDEAC countries. If the alumina imported by Cameroon were to be; excluded from total chemical imports, the percentage share increases considerably to 56-58.
