The agricultural development centre concept

Abstract

This paper discusses three types of development centers which differ in terms of the scope of facilities and services provided: (1) the simple agricultural development centre similar to the Veterinary Centers and Natural Resources Centers set up in Tanzania; (2) the more comprehensive agricultural centre concept as described at the Africa Regional Conference; (3) the still more comprehensive rural development centre concept as mentioned in the Africa Regional Conference and on which ECA has asked for further discussion.
