Résumé
Participants reviewed major recent trends in the world economy and international trade and compared developments in developing African countries as a whole- Emphasis was placed in particular on the fact that the recent rise in commodity prices had been the result of the inflation in the developed countries rather than the cause of it. They also stressed the negative effects of the inflation in relation to the deterioration in the terms of trade of the developing countries and in their balance of payments.
