Résumé
Almost all censuses in the 1970 round and afterwards will be processed by computers. In some cases, the input-output operations will be highly automated through the use of mark readers or optical character readers for input operations, and electronic photo-composers for out operations. Some principles of the processing technique will be discussed here with a special view to explanations and guidelines needed for those countries that are about to enter this field for the first time.
