Possibility of small-scale development of oil natural gas, coal and peat in order to reduce the pressure on biomass fuel sources : case of Burundi and Madagascar

Abstract

The disturbing energy situation is one of the major factors limiting Africa's economic development. As it could be observed*from the available statistics for 1984-1989, energy consumption is rising, faster and faster in the African member States up to the point of arousing serious anxieties about the continent's future energy supplies.
