The fourth Regional Conference on the Integration of Women in Development: Implementation of the Arusha Strategies for the Advancement of Women in Africa was held at Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria, from 6 to 10 November 1989 in accordance with ECA Conference of Ministers resolution 365 (X-IV), adopted in March 1979 in Rabat, Morocco which endorsed the recommendation that ECA should convene a Regional Conference on the Integration of Women in Development every three years;
