Résumé
This document has been prepared for submission to the sixth Regional Conference which is responsible for the mid-term review of the implementation of the African Platform on Women which was adopted by the fifth Regional Conference on Women held in Dakar in 1994. The African Platform for Action had emphasized the vital role of women in the family culture and socialization and considered it as an area of specific concern requiring the adoption of appropriate strategies and measures.
