The eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts of African Least Developed Countries was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 22 to 24 March 1989 to prepare for the ninth meeting of the Conference of Ministers of African Least Developed Countries, scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 4 and 5 April 1989. The meeting was attended by representatives of the following African least developed countries (LDCs): Burundi, Chad, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, the Niger, Rwanda, the Sudan, Togo, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania.
