During the biennium 1986-1987 ECA activities in the field of planning covered a wider range of economic development issues in line with the priorities of the Lagos Plan of Action, the Final Act of Lagos, Africa's Priority Programme for Economic Recovery and the United Nations Programme of Action for Africa's Recovery and Development, as well as the Third United Nations Development Decade of the International Development Strategy.
