Abstract

The Training Workshop on the Use of Software Packages in Statistical Computing for English-speaking Government Statisticians and Planners was held at ECA headquarters, Addis Ababa from 21 September to 2 October 1987. It was organized by the Statistics Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in collaboration with the Pan African Documentation and Information System,(PADIS), and the Population Division. The Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation (CFTC) financed the cost of the participation of a number of officials from Commonwealth African countries. The US Bureau of the Census and the United Nations Headquarters through the Department of Technical Cooperation for Development (DTCD) provided teaching materials and lecturers
