Abstract
The greater homogeneity of fertility patterns among the countries of these regions also manifested itself as a more uniform concentration of fertility in the younger reproductive ages. Between I960 and I965 the unweighted average of the proportion of gross total fertility in the ages under 30 among the countries of these regions increased from nearly 65 per cent to almost 67 per cent. In this instance, the change took place mostly in the European countries.
