Abstract
Consequently, the purpose of this study is to review the Global System of Trade Preference among developing countries (GSTP) within the context of Africa’s trade and development. It reviews in particular, the impact of GSTP as a tool for rectifying the lopsided trade relations taking into account the work done by the Negotiating Committee. A number of problems encountered, challenges and opportunities that are likely to accrue within the limited degree of freedom of action available to participating African countries in responding the world economic structures and changes are also reviewed.
