The Impact of transnational corporations in the banking and other financial institutions on the economy of Nigeria

Abstract

The neglect of agriculture and export-oriented commodities and the undue emphasis on imports and import-oriented industries were realized in i981 and 1982 and in the Fourth Development Plan that was being drawn up; the civilian government was once again trying to lay more emphasis on agriculture specially with a view to becoming self-sufficient in food. What importance will be given to food and agriculture by the Military Government is yet to be seen.
