African's economic recovery, growth and development : proposals for UNCTAD VII

Abstract

The submission is presented in five parts. Part I reviews Africa and UNCTAD in retrospect. It analyses the evolution in the development of UNCATD sessions as a forum for negotiations on trade and development issues between developing and developed countries since the inception of UNCTAD in 1964. It a consensus, but also in implementing mutually agreed decisions. Part II examines the issue on development finance, resource flows and external debt. Part III outlines what we expect the international community to implement UNCTAD, in the field of commodities. Part IV outlines briefly some of the issues which are related to improvement in international trade relations including proposals for new directions. Part V outlines the problems of the least developed countries and the implementation of the substantial New Program of Action (SNPA) and proposals for its improvement.
