dc.description.abstractThe creation of this section, which dates from I960, was rendered necessary by the comprehensive programme for starting map editing and printing, quite independently of the task of bringing up to date town, administrative and other road maps. This young section has since seen an increase in staff and in the necessary equipment (Scribing — light tables etc) .The extent of the future activities of this section has induced the Head of the Tunisian Survey Department to suggest and encourage the setting up of a Cartography Circle which would include, beside the above mentioned Drawing Section, a Section for Map Revision.en
