In his opening statement Minister of Supply and Internal Trade welcomed the delegates and pointed out the crucial importance of the meeting as a major step in the establishment of the Federation of African Chambers of Commerce as called for by our Heads of State and Governments in the Lagos Plan of Action. He said that Egypt was a firm believer and supporter of Pan African Cooperation and Africans collective self reliance.
