Abstract
The original purpose of this paper was to discuss the impact of the ECA guide syllabus for middle level personnel in statistics in the formulation or improvement of teaching programmes at STPA centers. The guide syllabus (document ST/ECA/STPA/ DM.2/3/Rev.1)was prepared by ECA during 1982. However it was considered too early to measure this impact since for practical purposes there has been only three academic years since the syllabus was produced.
