The aim of this Protocol to further the broad objectives for the Preferential Trade Area as provided for in Article of the Treaty, and to ensure full and effective participation of BLS states in the Preferential Trade Area. It shall more particularly aim at promoting in each BLS State a sustained expansion of economic activity, growth of employment, increased productivity and rational use of resources.
