Abstract
Banking and financial institutions are important pre-requisites for accelerated economic growth. Trained, experienced and capable personnel is essential to make the impact of these institutions effective. But in most African countries today banking and financial institutions and facilities are both inadequate in number and in the proportion of trained indigenous personnel at the upper levels to ensure efficient operation and adequate of facilities for a rapidly growing economy.
