Abstract
The development scheme of the "brick industry includes the erection of- about 17 factories-'for sand-lime bricks and clay-bricks in different regions covering all consumption centres of the Republic. The production capacity of these factories iiT about 700 million building units. capital of the whole project is about 10 million pounds. It is noteworthy that the general trend in the new brick projects in addition to-the use of, alternative raw; materials to Nile silt is the employment of-.the modern mechanical manufacturing methods and the production of perforated.light, weight and:larger volume building units.
