This paper focuses on implementation of the Dakar/NGOR declaration and the ICPD-PA: an assessment of African experiences. And highlighted several constraints in key programme areas: creating and enabling environment; gender equality, equity, empowerment of women and male involvement; family; youth and adolescents; reproductive health including family planning and sexual health, reproductive rights and HIV/AIDS; advocacy and IEC strategies; forging partnerships with the NGOs civil society and the private sector.
