The purpose of this paper is to examine the position of women in Kenya, from a specific point of view, which I would like to call Dependency patterns. The adoption of this point of view makes it possible to reduce the social, economic, and psychological elements in society to simple dependencies or inter relationship, and it is hoped that through this approach it might be possible to pin-point-the most likely avenues through which significant changes in the position of women can be expected.
