The main objective of PADIS will be to provide ready access to information - required by policy makers, technicians, planners and others engaged in the economic and social development- of African States, A rational approach to development cannot be successfully formulated unless all relevant information is fully considered during the planning and programming stages and accurate knowledge of the past as well as reliable projections, are used to for the basis for planning the future course of action.
