The purpose of the present report is to take stock of the preliminary positions adopted by the various ACP and Community States for the purpose of negotiating a successor agreement of the Lome Convention. To that end, it is appropriate firstly to review the results of the first two years of application of the Convention in the main areas of co-operation industrial co-operation, financial and technical co-operation, trade co-operation and export earnings stabilization. Thereafter, comments will be made concerning the tentative proposals of the ACP States.
