This study falls in line with the ECA objective of assisting member States with their development efforts. In fact, it aims at setting up the major mechanisms for enabling African countries to stabilize their export revenues by reducing the effects of commodity price fluctuations on their foreign exchange resources.
The study will be presented in four chapters. The commodities problem in Africa will be briefly examined in the first chapter. The second chapter will discuss the most important stabilization mechanisms. The third chapter will focus on the African experience with commodity export revenue stabilization, while the fourth chapter will propose recommendations for improving such export revenue stabilization in Africa.
