The concept of participatory rural development is an emerging field of discipline. Its basic rationale is derived from the well documented failure of trying to develop the rural sector of Africa a with the people fenced away or kept out of bounds. This report attempts to make a contribution in concentrating the concept in the form of guidelines for designing participatory rural development projects.
