This report presents a comprehensive study on the development of urban spatial frameworks in Africa, focusing on the case study of Luanda, Angola. It emphasizes the importance of sustainable urban planning in addressing the challenges posed by rapid urbanization, informal settlements, and inadequate infrastructure. The study advocates for the implementation of a compact polycentric urban model, which promotes equitable, connected, resilient, and economically vibrant cities. By utilizing geostatistical techniques and geospatial data analysis, the report outlines specific objectives aimed at enhancing urban frameworks, including promoting compactness, mixed land use, social equity, affordable housing, connectivity, mobility, resilience to shocks, and economic growth. The findings highlight the necessity of a collaborative approach involving various stakeholders to create a strategic roadmap for urban development that aligns with Sustainable Development Goals. Ultimately, the report aims to provide actionable insights for urban planners and policymakers to foster sustainable and inclusive urban environments across Africa.en
