The strategic toolkit for the transformation and modernization of national statistical systems in Africa aims to enhance the maturity of these systems by improving data capability and performance. It serves as a guide for prioritizing developments, leveraging digital technology, and unlocking data potential to achieve desired states of statistical systems. The toolkit is designed to be a resource for pan-African institutions and partners to support the agility, resilience, and sustainability of official statistics across the continent. Foundational enablers, such as institutional and organizational development, are essential for effective transformation, complemented by priority enablers that advance statistical processes, harness technology, and develop human capital. The toolkit includes a data maturity model with four levels, guiding countries in assessing their statistical capabilities and identifying pathways for improvement. Digital transformation is emphasized as a critical component, requiring tailored strategies to overcome challenges and integrate enablers into national statistical development strategies. The Commission is called to approve the toolkit and encourage its use among member states and partners.en
