Status of integration of geospatial and statistical information in Africa

Abstract

The report presents a comprehensive overview of the integration of geospatial and statistical information in Africa, highlighting the increasing demand for geospatial data and the efforts of African countries to implement national spatial data infrastructure and the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework. It identifies the challenges and opportunities in this integration, discusses the development of national strategies, and emphasizes the critical role of geospatial data in decision-making and sustainable development. The report also showcases examples of successful applications of geospatial technology in population and housing censuses, illustrating its potential to enhance data accuracy and inform policy.
