The North African sub region is yet to take off economically and enter an era of sustainable development. Problems of youth and employment, trade and regional cooperation, along with rational management of the natural resources are priority areas to be looked into. There is also a need for long term perspective studies and vision that can enable
member states to foresee well in advance possible developments at home and overseas, and plan their policies and strategies so as to cope better with the ever-changing climate of the global competitive market.
