Mission report to participate in and services the meeting of the bureau of African mining and energy ministers : to attend the fifth session of the indaba conference on investment in African mining

Abstract

The Second Conference of the African Ministers Responsible for the Development and Utilization of Mineral and Energy Resources in Africa held in Durban, South Africa in November 1997 was the last of the Conference organized on a regular basis. The main objectives of the mission were to: • participate in and service the meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of African Ministers Responsible for the Development and Utilization of Mineral and Energy Resources, 7 February 2000; • attend the Investment Conference in African Mining Indaba/2000, 8-10 February 2000; • take the opportunity of being in South Africa to discuss partnership issues with the Mining Industry Association of Southern Africa (MIASA) and the Mineral and Energy Policy Centre (MEPC) on 11 February 2000.
