The African Women Leadership Fund is an impact Fund that aims to strengthen the economic empowerment of women through accelerating the growth of African women fund managers. This Fund was established as a result of a call by the African Women Leadership Network at their inaugural meeting in New York from 31 May to 2 June 2017. The Fund was established by the Economic Commission for Africa under the leadership of the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Chairperson of the African Union, with support from: UN-Women; Office of the Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security of the African Union Commission; and the African Women Leadership Network.
