The present annual report of the Economic Commission for Africa covers the period from 31 March 2018 to April 2019, and has been prepared in accordance with paragraph 18 of the Commission’s terms of reference. The report was adopted at the fifty-second session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, which was held in Marrakech, Morocco, on 25 and 26 March 2019.
At its fifty-second session, the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development adopted eight resolutions and a ministerial statement addressing various topics on the theme, “Fiscal policy, trade and the private sector in the digital era: a strategy for Africa ”. The Commission brings these resolutions to the attention of the Economic and Social Council in view of their significance to the work of the Commission and requests the Council’s endorsement.
